You see many years ago this website was founded on peace, love and art. Then one day the mods noticed something, a daily deviation that they didn't select. It was intriguing, a picture of a girl with lots of dark makeup and black angel wings, it was titled "GoThAnGlE696969696969". They decided to leave it featured, after all it was such a beautiful piece, unlike any other that had ever graced this website.

What they didn't realize was that this image had a secret mystical power. The more favourites it received the stronger it became, untill one day it took over. It became the avatars, the background, the logo, the font and eventually it even became us. Not just us either, it found it's way to Sheezy Art, My Space and even Flicker.

We were trapped and there was no way out, Gothangle had won. It was 3 long years before we the deviants fought back. deleting all the images in our galleries, deleting our journals, and most importantly removing all favourites. It was hard at first to get everyone to agree to this, most had a fascination and admiration for the .jpg that they just couldn't let go of, but we needed to free ourselves and make it appear that this website was unpopular, for the greater good.

We did this for you, that's right it was all so you can enjoy the freedom and fun of deviantART. So next time, when you're questioning our existence, just know that if it weren't for us you wouldn't even be here.
